Vivens Kalinganire
Senior Consultant
Vivens has been an HR Practitioner for 15 years, having occupied senior HR positions in the Rwanda Ministry of Health as well as in the private sector. His expertise strongly relies on the application of HR in different sectors: Health, Manufacturing and SMEs, and the way those settings shape the HR practices and determine the role of HR professionals. Working in various African countries and developing HR consultancy projects in South East Asia, he has acquired wide experience in managing across cultures and in how diversity shapes HR practices in organisations. In a globalised world, where capital and people move constantly across countries, as an HR Practitioner Vivens has a story to tell!
He is a strong believer in the new HR role of driving value through talents in organisations, rather than just passively responding to the needs of the business. Recognizing a mismatch between resources existing in the academic world and what happens in the day-to-day work of HR Practitioners, his area of focus has been evidence-based people management. And over the years; Vivens has developed expertise in helping organisations develop fit-for purpose people policies, strategies and procedures capable of providing answers to the ever changing management dynamics, such as diversity management, cross-cultural management, ethical issues and business uncertainty.
Vivens has lived in 4 different countries and travelled extensively in his global consultancy engagements. He was born in Rwanda and got some of his education in the UK. He is passionate about supporting CIPD Advanced candidates especially those from Africa – a continent he feels attached to the most.
