Juggling or multi-tasking or just going at warp speed?

Well,  today is going to come under the category of Mental!

We have an Investors in People assessment against the 6th generation of the new standards. This is to prepare us for our formal assessment next year, where we aim to gain the Gold standard for the third time. There is now a Platinum standard too, so who knows…?

We also have our External Moderator, John Walton from CIPD carrying out a routine quality assurance visit.  So Lesley Pearson, our Quality Assurance Manager and Gina Andrei, our Centre Administrator have done an excellent job in getting ready for this. John monitors our activities with the Advanced CIPD qualification.

So two inspections in one day – what fun! It is always good to get an external perspective on our activities and we always value new ideas on how to improve what we offer. The new Investors in People standard is challenging, so all our team were asked to fill in an online questionnaire and then a number of people were selected by our assessor to be interviewed. These were carried out face to face or by telephone, so the flexibility of approach really suited us.

That would be enough for most people, but as I chair the Haywards Heath & District Business Association (HHDBA) we have a Question Time event where a panel of local dignitaries answer questions posed by our members.  I have the fun part of keeping order in the panel. We are also fortunate to have Ridgeview Vineyard providing us with a welcome glass of their lovely English sparkling wine – so I am sure that the evening will go well!

It will certainly draw from my Resilience Bank!
