September this year proved to be a wonderful month for us here at Cullen Scholefield. Not only was it our 36th birthday, but we discovered, with great delight, that we had been awarded the much sought after Platinum Accreditation from Investors in People. What’s more, it was our second time round for being recognised in such a manner and, in a nutshell, means we practice what we preach!
The Platinum award is the highest level of accreditation achievable and it means our policies and practices for supporting people at work are embedded in every corner of our organisation. In a platinum company, everyone knows they have a part to play in not only the business growing and thriving, but ensuring the very highest performance.
Investors in People have one mission, which is to make work better. In awarding us Platinum status, they specifically praised us for our high performing nature in all areas of work. To toot our own horn just a little more(!), from scoring the highest mark in 7/9 key indicators that the assessors consider in 2019, this time we maintained our focus on continuous improvement and scored the highest mark achievable in them ALL!
Indicator 1: Leading and Inspiring People
Indicator 2: Living the organisation’s values and behaviours
Indicator 3: Empowering and involving people
Indicator 4: Managing performance
Indicator 5: Recognising and rewarding high performance
Indicator 6: Structuring work
Indicator 7: Building capability
Indicator 8: Delivering continuous improvement
Indicator 9: Creating sustainable success
Only around 5% of organisations achieve platinum status which reflects our embedded ethos that every single person in our organisation is involved in supporting each other and what’s more, is doing their best to make work better.
Commenting on the accreditation, Maureen said: “I am so proud of everyone that works at Cullen Scholefield and that we have been honoured in this way. Platinum status has provided a wonderful sense of achievement to all our staff and we confidently move forward on our journey of continuous improvement.”
Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, commented: “We’d like to offer our huge congratulations: Platinum accreditation is a remarkable effort for any organisation. It places Cullen Scholefield amongst some fine company, with only a select few organisations being awarded Platinum status. This reflects how Cullen Scholefield really does understand the value of people.”
Maureen added: “We believe that the success of any organisation begins and ends with its people. If we make work better for everyone, we make work better for every organisation. And if we do that… we make society stronger, healthier and happier.”
