Christmas is the time of year for good things and surprises, so in the spirit of this we’re gifting you two blogs this week!
Today we want to congratulate all of our candidates who have completed their qualification with us this year, all 129 of them. The Awards Presentation last Friday was a great success and we enjoyed celebrating with all those who attended and wished we could celebrate with all of those who missed out.
Special congratulations go to our Candidate and Student of the Year.
Ann Makus was awarded Candidate of the Year due to her extra commitment to complete her CIPD Advanced Diploma in Human Resources Management. She undertook her exams across the globe in Singapore and achieved a distinction in her Management Research Report whilst holding down a global role with Rolls Royce. She is now exercising her skills from her qualification at the exciting new start up company, Future Cities Catapult.
Paul Durkin was awarded Student of the Year primarily for his dedication and initiative. He recognised that the tasks he was performing at Nationwide were synonymous with those of an HR role and decided to undertake a CIPD Intermediate Human Resource Management qualification. We hope Nationwide recognises his initiative and hard work as much as we do.
Other candidates acknowledged for their distinctions were Alison Chase, a Cineworld ILM Level 7 candidate, and Steve O’Donoghue, a CIPD Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management candidate.
Steve O’Donoghue, from Dorset Police, achieved Merits in both of his exams and a distinction in his Management Research Report. He has also been very generous in sharing his exam and study techniques with other Level 7 candidates and has become a contact for potential Level 7 candidates to hear about the programme from the student’s point of view.
Alison Chase was part of the first Cineworld ILM Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Executive Management programme and celebrated her success with six fellow candidates who were all in good cheer, and not just because their Christmas party was the night before… They were joined by Stuart Holdsworth, Head of Learning and Development and Matt Eyre, Operations Manager, who both played a huge role in the success of the programme. Of course we have to thank our own Carol for her efforts in making the Cineworld programme a success as well. We were also pleased to be joined by our special guest Charles Elvin, Chief Executive of ILM, who presented the ILM candidates with their certificates. We look forward to celebrating the success of the second round of Level 7 candidates and the first round of Level 5 candidates in the future.
Wes Trickey, from College of Policing, was also acknowledged for his commitment to both his education and Cullen Scholefield. He first completed his PAC with us and then completed his ILM Level 7 Diploma in Professional Executive Coaches and Leadership Mentors while also working towards his Masters.
No one can deny that our candidates are a dedicated and inspiring bunch!
We may sound like bragging parents in the playground but the truth is we are very proud of every candidate who gains their qualification with the help of Cullen Scholefield and the Awards Presentation is our chance to celebrate our finished candidates before returning to the phones, trains, planes and Circle of Peers events to help out our other candidates in time to celebrate again next year.
Lucky for us though, we get to celebrate again on Tuesday 28th January at the Sefton Hotel in the Isle of Man for all of our Manx candidates who could not make it to London last Friday. There will also be the Isle of Man Candidate and Student of the year awards available so shine up those apples… official invites will be on their way soon!
And finally here are the Cullen Scholefield team so that you can put a face to the many emails and phone calls!
