This week I’m anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Certificate for my Foundation Diploma in HR Practice so that I can finally upgrade from Student to Associate member of CIPD. Thinking about my journey through the qualification, it got me thinking about our candidates and their achievements and also looking ahead to December when we celebrate our candidates who have completed their qualifications in 2013.
This year has been a year for breaking records, so we thought we’d honour Iain Harris of Gold Group who kept us on our toes and finished his Foundation qualification in just 3 months – our fastest candidate ever! When talking about his journey Iain said: “I originally approached Cullen Scholefield to do my HR qualification because they provided the most flexible option, the other 3 I looked at restricted you to having to attend several courses all laid out over a period of a year and with the risk of those courses being cancelled if they did not get the required level of attendance. I felt it was possible to achieve this qualification much quicker than that with the correct course and hard work. I have proved this by using Cullen Scholefield.
I completed my course in 3 months from when I started it and this was only possible thanks to the great structure and flexibility of the course. The tutors and staff were all very accommodating to my requirements as they all knew from day 1 that I intended to beat the previous record for completion which was approximately 5 months. I found the course to be very straight forward, clear to follow and I learnt so much in such a short space of time. Submitting work was entirely down to putting the effort in myself with support if I needed it from my tutor, but it is clear that if you give it the extra 2% and really have the desire to get the qualification quickly then you need only go through this course.
I am the head of business support for my company and this incorporates being HR manager and since passing I have implemented several of the things that I learnt on the course with Cullen Scholefield. My next intention is to smash the record for completing the level 7 qualification I believe this to be 18 months….but we shall see! Good luck to all of you looking to or are currently studying”.
Iain has proved that it can be done (and that we certainly owe him some bubbly!) His story captures what Cullen Scholefield is all about. Who really has the time to sit in a classroom for days on end and more to the point who wants to? I know I’ve really benefited from the flexible style of delivery that allowed me to fit in work and a house move around studying.
